OUS Victoria (OUSV) is one of the University of Oxford’s 200+ official alumni groups around the world.

The group was established in 1996 and, while based in Melbourne, does reach out to alumni based elsewhere in the state of Victoria. For instance there is a group of alumni in Geelong who get together for their own events.

We are a vibrant and friendly group of alumni with a diverse age range who meet on a regular basis for social events and to hear interesting speakers.

We plan our events to appeal to as many people as possible, and incorporate drinks after work, regular lunches, and guest speaker occasions.

Our flagship event is our annual dinner, to which we regularly welcome around 100 people, to hear a guest speaker and to catch up with other alumni. We work closely with the Cambridge Society and also have networking drinks with alumni from the Ivy League.

Our annual freshers' farewell party is always a great success. The event gives new students a connection to Oxford and the opportunity to learn from the experiences of those who went up before them. When freshers return as alumni, they form an important part of the younger element in the group.

There are over 900 Oxford alumni in Victoria, of whom some 400 are members of the OUSV. Have a look at what we do on Facebook – we’re there as OUSV - and find us on the Oxford Alumni Community network.
