Meeting Minds

Alumni from across the world joined us for Meeting Minds Global 2020

If you missed out on the event and would like to catch up, all you need to do is log into your My Oxford Online account, and go to the My Oxford + tab from 16 September, where you can see sessions recorded by the Alumni Office (and others).

Meeting Minds Global 2020 was our September 'alumni weekend' but virtual. Multiple Zoom sessions took place everyday for a week, with exclusive academic insights into the latest research across a wide range of disciplines, from science and technology, the medical sciences, humanities, and the social sciences. Speakers included:

  • Professor Sir John Bell giving an insight into Oxford’s COVID-19 research
  • Dr Bernie Hogan discussing how to manage your social media presence
  • A panel of distinguished alumni celebrating the 100th anniversary of the PPE degree, including Pete Buttigieg, who was a candidate in the primaries to become the Democrat presidential nomination
  • Dr Lena Fritsch taking you behind the scenes of her exhibition at the Ashmolean
  • An audience with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Louise Richardson
  • And our venerable Chancellor, Lord Patten of Barnes, who, with the help of distinguished guests, examined the role of Britain’s soft power.
