Vancouver Oxford & Cambridge Society - 'Kidnic' 2015

The Vancouver Oxford & Cambridge Society’s (VOCS) held their child-friendly garden party in the garden of the UK consul general (“Kidnic”) earlier this month (July).

More than 60 big and little people attended and sated themselves on Pimm’s skillfully mixed by Alan Lund, tea, scones, cream, strawberries, cucumber, egg salad and peanut butter sandwiches, as well as wonderful asparagus and bacon roll-ups, and a selection of ‘tea-suitable’ biscuits.

The weather was perfect and the kids were angelic - consuming goodies, playing a rather golf-like version of croquet, and jumping on the trampoline generously provided by our hosts, the wonderfully charming and generous Rupert and Juliette Potter, the UK consul general and his wife.

It was, altogether, a roaring success and definitely something to be repeated next year. Great thanks to all who made it work so well, who, in addition to the Potters, included Alan, Louise, Charlotte (official photographer) and Henry (food tester) Lund, Margie Knox and Lois Woolley.
