OUS Victoria - Cambridge edge out Oxford in an exciting Spring Golf Day
The 2015 Spring Golf Day was a most enjoyable affair held in Melbourne on Sunday, 13 December. Members of the Oxford University Society of Victoria (OUSV) were joined by our Cambridge colleagues for the event.
The weather was perfect for the 17 golfers, including five lady players, who put their game to the test around the beautiful Green Acres Golf Club. There was some excellent golf played with two scores of 38 points (stableford format), and the OUSV trophy going to Paul Ferguson (Oxford) with an impressive 43 points.
However, in the recently instigated team event Oxford lost out to Cambridge for the Henry Gordon-Clark trophy by the narrowest of margins (222 to 223 points). This left all of the Oxford players ruing the missed short putts!
We enjoyed lunch together in the clubhouse after the game and discussed planning for the 2016 Autumn Golf Day, details of which will be circulated in the OUSV newsletter.
