Support Oxford against Cambridge in the 164th men's Boat Race and 73rd Women's Boat Race

The Cancer Research UK Boat Races, supported by BNY Mellon and Newton Investment Management, sees four openweight crews competing from the University Stone at Putney to Mortlake up the four mile (6.8km) course.

The times of the races are:

  • 4.31pm - the women’s boat race
  • 4.46pm - the women's reserve race (Blondie v Osiris)
  • 5.01pm - the men’s reserve race (Goldie v Isis)
  • 5.31pm - the men's boat race

The Races are open to the public and you can gather at any one of the many vantage points along the riverbank such as Putney, Hammersmith, Barnes or Chiswick, on watch live on BBC One in the UK or on the BBC iPlayer.

OUS Bristol & Bath - Boat race event
Date and time: 4pm, Saturday 24 March
Venue: The Lansdown Public House, Clifton, BS3 1AF
Details: The group invites Oxonians to join them in cheering on the dark blues at their annual boat race event. The event will take place in the garden of The Lansdown. In the event that normal mild and sunny spring weather does not materialise, the garden is covered and can be heated. Dress code is informal, but University and college attire is very much encouraged! View the group's website for more details.

OUS Edinburgh - Viewing of the boat races
Date and time: 3pm, Saturday 24 March
Venue: The Cambridge Bar, 20 Young Street, Edinburgh EH2 4JB
Details: The group invites alumni to join them for an action-packed afternoon cheering on the dark blues as they take on Cambridge on the water. The group has tables reserved in the bar from 3pm. Seats will go on a first-come, first-served basis.

OUS Gloucestershire - Boat race party
Date and time: 4pm-6pm, Saturday 24 March
Venue: The Village Hall, Sheepscombe, GL6 7RQ 
Details: The group invites Oxonians to join them and Cambridge alumni for their annual boat race party. The event will include an afternoon tea with home made cakes with tea, coffee, soft drinks and prosecco. There will also be a charity raffle - there is no obligation to join, although attendees are invited to bring along something to raffle off. The cost for the event is £10 per person.

Oxford10 - Boat race party with Cambridge10

Venue: Craven Cottage, Stevenage Road, Fulham, London, SW6 6HH
Details: Oxford10 - the official London-based alumni group for Oxonians who have graduated in the past ten years - invites Oxonians to join them for their joint boat race party with Cambridge10, the official young alumni association for the University of Cambridge. The event is being held at the ground of Fulham FC - Craven Cottage - with great views of the opening stages of the day's races.
The group will then have their own private lounge to be able to watch the rest of proceedings on a screen, as well as enjoy drinks and a buffet whilst meeting other young alumni of both universities. A limited number of early bird tickets are available for £30.

OUS Northern Ireland - Boat race social

Venue: Duke of York bar (upstairs room), 7-11 Commercial Court, Belfast BT1 2NB
Details: The group invites Oxonians to join them for their annual informal social event to celebrate the Boat Race,
held as last year in the Duke of York in the Cathedral Quarter of the city. The event is free, with refreshments available to buy
on the day.

Australia

OUS Victoria - Boat Race Annual Dinner
Date and time: 6.30pm for 7pm, Friday 20 April
Venue: 12 Bank Place (off Collins Street), Melbourne
Details: Pre-dinner drinks will be served from 6:30 pm during which we will (assuming it’s available) screen the women’s race, followed shortly after 7 pm with a 2-course dinner followed again by a screening of the men’s race.
The dinner is not a black tie affair, but we do encourage anyone who can muster a blazer (rowing or otherwise) to wear it, otherwise it's a tie and jacket for men and equivalent dress for women 
Seats for the Dinner are always in high demand, so we urge you to book early. Guests are most welcome. Details: The group invites Oxonians to join them and Cambridge alumni in cheering on their respective universities at a viewing of this year's boat races at this popular Viennese sports bar.

OUS Belgium - Boat race mixer event with the Cambridge Society of Belgium

Details: The group invites alumni to join them for a special mixer event in conjunction with the Cambridge Society of Belgium to watch the boat races on television. The venue is a short distance from the group's normal mixer venue at The Aloft and has been booked exclusively for two hours for the group.

Canada

Oxford & Cambridge Society of Toronto - Boat race viewing
Date and time: 10am onwards, Saturday 24 March
Venue: Queen & Beaver Pub, 35 Elm Street, Toronto, Ontario M5G 1H1, Canada
Details: The group invites Oxonians to join them and Cambridge alumni in cheering on their respective universities at a viewing of this year's boat race, in the upstairs of the pub. Tickets are not required in advanced but seating is on a first-come, first-served basis so anyone wishing to attend is advised to arrive early.
Tickets are not required in advance and the group has chosen a location with more space this year, due to the popularity of the event.

Vancouver Oxford & Cambridge Society - Boat race breakfast

Details: Cheer on the dark blues with fellow Oxonians at the group's annual boat race breakfast. Food and coffee will be available and alcoholic drinks can be served after 9am, for those wanting to toast the winners and/or drown their sorrows in a traditional manner.

France

OUS Paris - Viewing of the boat race
Date and time: from 5.30pm, Saturday 24 March
Venue: The Bowler, 13 Rue d'Artois, 75008 Paris, France
Details: Once again, the group are gathering at The Bowler (Metro St Philippe du Roule) to cheer along the dark blues in their valiant attempts to close the gap with their historic rivals. The women's race starts at 5:31pm Paris time, followed an hour later by the men's. The Bowler will be serving drinks at happy hour prices all day until 8pm and will be keeping the kitchen open all afternoon for snacks or after race dinner. 
Dress code: your favourite shade of blue! There is no charge nor formal reservation.

OUS Berlin - Viewing of the boat race

Venue: The Castle, Invalidenstraße 129, 10115 Berlin.

Oxford & Cambridge Society of Hamburg - Viewing of the boat race
Date and time: 4pm-9pm, Saturday 24 March
Venue: The home of Dominik Kovert - full address details provided upon registration.
Details: Join the group for an afternoon of food, drink and good-natured jibes viewing the boat race. Dominik's garden has a trampoline and a range of other things to keep children entertained. There will be coffee in the afternoon and a buffet spread for after the broadcast (guests will be able to make a contribution to the costs).

Details:  Dust off your college blazer and join the group for some Blue Boat Action, as they are joined by fellow Cambridge Alumni in Munich to cheer the Dark Blues to (hopefully certain) victory.

Details: Alumni and partners are invited by OUS Sweden to join them for an evening of academic friendship and rivalry in watching this year's boat races in the heart of Stockholm. The invitation has been extended to the Cambridge Alumni Society of Sweden.

Switzerland

Oxford & Cambridge Club of Geneva - Annual boat race dinner and AGM
Date and time: 6.15pm, Tuesday 3 April
Venue: Restaurant of the Club Nautique de Versoix, Chemin des Graviers 35, 1290 Versoix.
Details: The group invites Oxonians to join them in socialising with fellow alumni at their annual dinner while also getting the chance to catch all of the action from this year's boat races. An apéritif will be offered at 6.15pm, at which time recordings of the boat races will be shown. This will be followed by the AGM, at 7pm. Dinner will be served after the AGM, at around 7.30 pm.

Please inform the group if you require a vegetarian main course. For those who have not settled your 2018 club subscription (CHF 25.-) the group will also be asking you to pay this.
As last year, the group will hold two free sweepstakes. Members who attend the dinner may leave their estimate of the two race results (crew and winning margin in lengths) with treasurer Ian Gordon. Entries must be received by noon on Friday, 23 March. The prize is a bottle of champagne for each race and ties will not be allowed.

Booking: The cost is CHF60 per person, payable in cash at the entrance. The price includes 3dl of wine, beer, sodas and/ still or mineral water and a coffee, tisane or tea per person. The club will offer an apéritif. Anyone wishing to attend should RSVP by email to Ian Gordon by the end of the day on Tuesday, 27 March, together with their meal choices. No-shows will be charged unless cancellation is received by then.

Details: The group invites alumni to join them in watching Oxford take on their historic rivals on the water at this popular Kiev venue. Attendees are encouraged to wear their college outfit and bring Oxford colours and flags. There is no entrance fee - those attending will just need to pay for their orders.

Details: The group invites alumni, friends and family to their annual; delayed screening of the Oxford vs Cambridge boat races. Attendees will be able to place a free bet on the results of the two races and winning margins, with the closest to the correct results winning prizes. First prize is a $100 BevMo gift card
