The new Oxford Black Alumni Network will connect black alumni of the University and involve them in projects such as mentoring and buddying schemes for former, current and aspiring Oxford students.
We were delighted to welcome around 1,700 alumni and guests back to Oxford for the 11th Meeting Minds: Alumni Weekend in Oxford.
The packed three-day programme included sessions on everything from Greek music and Japanese to talks on autism and a lecture by World Wide Web inventor Sir Tim Berners-Lee on computer science.
Almost 40 alumni group representatives from around the world also attended Friday’s groups’ component.
Oxonians from two German alumni groups came together to socialise in style at the world-renowned Oktoberfest in Munich this month.
OUS Munich has traditionally held an event around the Oktoberfest for the past several years.
This year around 40 Oxonians attended their get-together, including Brian Melican, Oxford contact for the Oxford and Cambridge Society of Hamburg.
The joint outing came about after Brian was looking at other groups’ websites last summer with a view to increasing their contacts and noticed the Munich event.
We welcomed nearly 1600 alumni and friends to Oxford for a stimulating Alumni Weekend.
The Meeting Minds timetable includes a handy map of Oxford, locations of all Meeting Minds events and other useful information for the Weekend.
