Volunteer

You’ve experienced firsthand the distinctive and transformative natures of an Oxford education – now share your knowledge and skills to help preserve the vitality of the University for future generations.

There are many ways to contribute, from sharing career experiences or mentoring a student to offering your place of work for a future event. Whatever you choose, you’ll be making a difference and enjoying your interactions with current students and fellow alumni.

Below are some of the opportunities available for alumni to volunteer for the University.

Student internships

Students highly value and learn from interactions with alumni while alumni find it rewarding to share their experiences. Host an intern through the Oxford University Internship Programme (OUIIP).

Careers mentors

Join the Oxford Careers Network and offer help and careers advice to students considering entering your profession and to alumni who want advice on how to progress in their chosen career or are looking to change track.

Host a team of Oxford student consultants

The Student Consultancy provides employability skills training and work-based experiences to students, along with free and professional consultancy services to local businesses, charities and community organisations.  You can either use your business skills to mentor a team of consultants, or host a team of consultants to help your organisation.

Speakers

There are a range of opportunities to pass on your knowledge and experience at an engaging event.  OxSAS (Oxford Student Alumni Society) are looking for speakers at their events connecting current students with alumni. Or you may be able to help with a talk at a professional networking event or the annual Oxford Alumni Weekend.  Update your details to indicate you would like to be a speaker.

Offer a venue

Each year the Alumni Office organises a number of networking events and study days around the UK.  We are always on the lookout for interesting venues that alumni will enjoy visiting and will help make the event memorable. Are you able to offer us the use of such a venue for a future event?  If so, we would love to hear from you.  Please e-mail enquiries@alumni.ox.ac.uk.
