Career workshops:

Join one of the workshops hosted by Dr Mike Moss from the Careers Service. Leavers are welcome to register in advance via CareerConnect.

1-2pm: Kickstart your career
Planning life or a career can be overwhelming. There are so many opportunities it is difficult to know where to start. Mike has developed a simple approach to navigating this complexity. It involves being a little more open minded than feels intuitive, setting aside biases, suspending judgment and researching a diverse range of options in a structured way with an open mind. Mike will be ready to answer all of your questions as you prepare to kickstart your career.

Register in advance.

2-3pm: Improve your applications, CV and cover letter
As part of his Masterclass, Mike has developed a range of counter-intuitive tips and tricks to improve your job applications, CV and cover letter. Typically, in the month before attending the Masterclass graduates apply for about ten jobs to get one interview. In the month after attending the Masterclass, graduates report getting an interview more than 50% of the time. The Masterclass will be repeated on Saturday 15 June at 10am.

Register in advance.

3-4pm: How to prepare for interviews
Mike will outline how to prepare for an interview, how to research the organisation and sector more broadly and deeply than feels intuitive and how to prepare responses to common interview questions. He will answer all of your questions about interviews and assessment days.

Register in advance.
