The College is open without charge to all visitors 2pm to 4pm, Monday to Friday. Groups of more than six need to gain permission from the Bursar in advance to visit. All Souls College is closed during Easter, the month of August, and over the Christmas period.

Blackfriars welcomes visits by alumni and their families: just contact the Alumni and Development Office (details below). We can offer alumni a guided tour of the priory and the new annexe building; or help you to arrange to meet specific Blackfriars academics or Dominican friars.

College visiting times for My Oxford Card-holders are 10am to 5pm during the summer months and 10am to 4.30pm during the winter. Christ Church welcomes My Oxford Card-holders may bring 1 personal guest free of charge per day during visitor opening times:

  • Monday to Saturday: 10am to 5pm, with a last entry time of 4.15pm.
  • Sunday: 2pm to 5pm, with a last entry time of 4.15pm

Occasionally Christ Church will be fully or partially closed when areas are in use for private events or services. You are advised to check the known closures page of the Christ Church website or contact the Visitor Services office (details below) when planning a visit. My Oxford Card-holders may enter Christ Church via Meadow Gate in the Meadow. Please show your My Oxford card to the Custodian on duty at the gate. Additional guest tickets may be purchased from the Visitor Centre opposite Meadow Gate. If you would like to bring more than 5 guests in total please contact the Visitor Services office in advance.

Corpus Christi College welcomes visitors daily from 2.00pm – 5.00pm. We welcome groups subject to a maximum of 19 people. Occasionally during the year we will be closed for College events so it is always best to contact the Porters on 01865 276700 prior to planning a visit.

Alumni, prospective students and offer holders are welcome to visit the College at any time. Hertford welcomes all My Oxford Card holders to visit OB Quad and the Chapel free of charge between 10am and 3pm. The exceptions to this are during the Christmas closure period, and when an event is running in college such as a degree ceremony. Alumni wishing to visit other parts of the college may be able to arrange a tour through the Development Office, if organised in advance and between the hours of 10am and 3pm Monday to Friday.

Old Members are very welcome to visit the college between 10am and 5.30pm, except during the closure periods (ten days at Christmas and seven days at Easter). The only other exceptions to this are when an event is running in college, such as a degree ceremony. To avoid disappointment, please contact the Lodge on the details below in advance of your visit to check if college will be open, especially when coming from overseas.

When you arrive in college, present yourself at the Lodge with an item of ID so that the porter on duty can check your name against the list of Old Members.

If you are planning to bring a group (other than your immediate family) you will need to book in advance by contacting the Lodge on the details below.

Magdalen College coat of arms

Magdalen College

Magdalen welcomes visitors to the college during its opening hours. These hours apply to all except those coming on college business. Times are subject to change and occasionally the college will be closed for special events. You are advised to check opening times on Magdalen College's website or the noticeboard on the High Street. All visitors must report to the Lodge on arrival. Groups should book in advance. They want you to enjoy your visit, but please remember that throughout the year the college is a place of residence, work and study, and you are asked not to enter staircases, college rooms and areas marked as private. Dogs, except guide dogs, are not allowed in the college. Do not walk on the grass or picnic in the grounds. Random bag searches may be carried out. No charge is made for residents of Oxford or holders of My Oxford Cards; and one guest in each case.

Magdalen College is open every day from 2 January to 19 December between 10am and dusk or 5.00pm, whichever is the earlier, with the exception of July, August, and September when the college will close at 6.30pm.

My Oxford Card-holders are welcome to visit Mansfield College free of charge, and there is no limit to the number of guests who may accompany Card-holders (although it would be appreciated if larger groups could inform the Alumni and Development Office on development@mansfield.ox.ac.uk in advance of their visit). They request all visitors to report to the Porter’s Lodge.

Alumni are also invited to get in touch with the Development Office in advance of their visit if they would be interested in having an available member of the team show them around the college and bring them up to speed on the latest news.

Mansfield’s front gate is locked at midnight each day and re-opened at 7am each morning, and the college is closed for a short period over Christmas and Easter.

Merton College is normally open to all visitors on:

  • Monday to Friday, 2pm to 5pm
  • Saturdays and Sundays 10am to 5pm
  • Last entry at 4.30pm or dusk if earlier.

There is no admission charge for visits to the college by past or present University members or Merton Alumni with up to three guests, on presentation of a University, Alumni or Bodleian card. My Oxford Card-holders are welcome to visit New College and there is no charge for entry for Card-holders and a guest. Old Members of New College are allowed free entry, and can bring up to three guests.

My Oxford Card-holders are welcome to visit Oriel College during public opening hours of 2pm to 5pm and there is no charge for entry for Card-holders and one guest. Please note that Visiting during Trinity Term is limited due to examinations, please phone ahead to check for any given day. My Oxford Card-holders are not admitted when functions are being held in college (the Card-holder should telephone the college in advance to check).

Orielenses are welcome to visit the college 7 days a week between 09:00-17:00 provided there are no events on in College which would prohibit this. Please present your My Oxford Card on arrival. Members of the Development Office staff are very happy to give tours of college to alumni and their guests (Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 3.30pm), where staff availability permits. Advance notice of a visit is preferred. At weekends, if you bring your My Oxford Card with you and show this to the Porters, you will be able to have access to the public areas of the college.

My Oxford Card-holders may visit Pembroke College free of charge (members of the general public are not normally admitted), and with a reasonable number of accompanying family and/or friends. My Oxford Card-holders may visit at any reasonable time during the day, 9am to 7pm, and will have access to Old and Chapel quads, the Damon Wells Chapel, the Hall, and the Rokos Quad - providing there are no special activities taking place. However, Alumni are strongly advised to call in advance to the College Development Office (01865 276405) or the Lodge Manager (01865 276444) to check that these areas are available and to make suitable arrangements for entry. The college is often host to very large conferences and events and to degree days which may prevent access – please check with them before you travel!

Alumni wishing to have greater access (to their old room, for example) should make arrangements well in advance through the college's Development Office.

Farthings is open Monday to Friday 8am to 5.30pm during term-time, and Monday to Friday 9am to 3pm during the vacations. Alumni are welcome to use the facility – payment is by credit or debit card (cash is not normally accepted). A full coffee shop with barista service and a wide range of drinks and snacks are available. Outside of term-time, a smaller selection of food is available, and the café may occasionally be closed for events.

Alumni wishing to visit the Art Gallery should contact the Development Office well in advance to arrange a viewing.
