We’re delighted to invite you to join fellow alumni for an audience with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Louise Richardson, who will provide an update on the University with exclusive insights into its connections within Australia and New Zealand. She will be followed by Professor Hugh Possingham (St John's, 1984), Queensland Chief Scientist, and The Chief Scientist of The Nature Conservancy, who will discuss his conservation career that has spanned over 20 years and whose work is helping to save the Great Barrier Reef and millions of acres of Queensland habitats.

Professor Hugh Possingham became Queensland Chief Scientist in September 2020. He is a conservation scientist and mathematician who has held positions in the university, public and not-for profit sectors.

Professor Possingham's career at The University of Queensland includes periods as Australian Research Council Professorial, Federation and Laureate Fellows and directorship of a Centre of Excellence for Environmental Decisions.
