Blackwell's has an enviable reputation as a bookseller specialising in academic books. Its first bookshop was opened in 1879 in Oxford. Find a Blackwell's bookshop near you

Offers for alumni: Oxford Alumni Card-holders benefit from a 15% discount on all purchases in every store and online.

Please note that terms and conditions apply. This 15% discount cannot be used on top of price-promoted (money-off) books (in each case, the customer will get the best offer). This discount can also not be used in conjunction with Blackwell's reward card.

How to claim: Please show your Oxford Alumni Card at the time of purchase. Or visit the Oxford Alumni Bookshop where your discount will be automatically deducted at the checkout.

Books by alumni: Visit our online alumni bookshop hosted by Blackwell's, including featured books by Oxford alumni. We feature a selection of books written by alumni authors every month.

If you have written a book and it is available to purchase from Blackwell's, please complete this form. We are interested in all genres of fiction and non-fiction, but the book(s) must have been published in the last 12 months and be available from Blackwell's.

Book Gift Club

Subscribe to the Oxford Alumni Book Gift Club and Blackwell's will hand-pick a book per month and deliver it. Their choices will be some of the most interesting and high-quality books published during the year. This could be a wonderful present for a friend or perhaps an indulgence for yourself.

You can choose to receive books from one of five categories:

  • Fiction
  • History
  • Politics, Philosophy and Culture
  • Science
  • The Perfect Mixture - a selection of books from all of the above categories

Once you have signed up and paid the annual subscription, Blackwell's will do the rest. The first book will be despatched at the beginning of the first month after you have subscribed, along with a membership certificate. Then, Blackwell's will simply provide a book per month – a total of 12 books over the year.
