A one-day conference at Lady Margaret Hall on 30 September will mark the 4th Oxford–Berlin Symposium, the annual summit of the Oxford–Berlin Research Partnership that began in 2017.
The subject for 2025 is 'Innovation – pathways to societal impact'.
The conference will consider the role of innovation in research and public life, convening academic and non-academic contributors and audiences drawn from a wide base of communities.
Initial remarks will be offered by Professor Alex Betts, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement) and Academic Director of the Oxford–Berlin Research Partnership, and Professor Beate Kampmann, Einstein Professor of Global Health, Academic Director of the Oxford–Berlin Research Partnership.
The symposium will then offer four panels covering the following strategic areas of interest all focused on innovation: 'Science and the Environment', 'Artificial Intelligence and the Arts', 'Building Resilient Democracies in a Changing World', and 'Innovation Ecosystems'.
Following closing remarks by Professor Betts, there will be time for networking. The organisers envisage a widely-drawn audience including Oxford alumni. Registration is required but there is no cost. Details below.
